Take your residents on a trip down memory lane!
In the Summer of 2018, Amy started working in various Care Homes in London performing singalongs and gentle exercise for their residents. During this time she was asked on numerous occasions to return to perform for the residents so she decided to put together a show perfect for reminiscing.
Amy’s Trip Down Memory Lane is an hour long performance showcasing songs from the Great American Songbook of the 20s, 30s and 40s including; My Blue Heaven, Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend, Cheek To Cheek, Somewhere Over The Rainbow and many more! If you require regular visits to keep your residents entertained, Amy also offers a Soul & Motown set, a Jazz & Swing set and a 60s set.
As well as using the songs to jog her audience’s memories, Amy gets the residents involved by encouraging dance moves (which can be done seated!) as well as getting them to guess the artists or decades and remember composers and their musicals. She enjoys interacting with the residents and loves to see them singing along with her and even getting up for a dance.
Amy was a regular entertainer at a care home in West London from April 2019 and since moving to Brighton has enjoyed working with CAE agency. Having moved back to her home town of Shrewsbury, Amy shared a VE day video (a selection from this video is at the top of this page) with local care homes as well as neighbours, friends and family to try to lift spirits during the lockdown. In 2022, Amy visited a local care home once a month as well as visits to other care homes in Shropshire for special occasions such as the Queen’s Jubilee. Amy is currently performing in a theatre show which tours 12 months of the year in the UK and internationally including sold out shows in London’s West End at The Adelphi theatre. Amy enjoys her shows at care homes and hopes to do as many performances as she can alongside her theatre tour schedule.
All necessary equipment will be provided by Amy and she will arrive prior to performance time to set up ready for a 1 hour performance. Amy has a portable, battery powered amp which means she can provide a socially distanced performance in your garden or courtyard with no compromise on the quality of sound.
